Introduction

Location

Kodaikanal can be accessed by road either from Madurai, Coimbatore or Kodairoad. All three in turn can be reached by road or train. Madurai and Coimbatore in addition can also be accessed by air.

Accommodation

Hotel Carlton offers excellent accommodation in a total of 46 well appointed rooms, categorized as Duplex Rooms, Deluxe Rooms and Cottages. The hotel has 24 independent cottages built in traditional Tamil Nadu style.

The Duplex Rooms are designed in the traditional Tamil Nadu style and consist of a bedroom, an attached sitting room, balconies and a sit out. Rooms have a mache, which is a masterpiece of traditional Tamil Nadu architecture. Killivathils (a perched lookout attached to a window to view the scenery around), are also a standard feature in the rooms.

The Deluxe Rooms are elegantly appointed with attached sit outs, television, telephone, 24 hr hot water, and all other modern amenities.

The traditionally styled Cottages have tiled roofs and are fitted with arras & nirras, which are the wooden stores, attached to traditional Tamil Nadu houses for storing rice. The rooms are replete with facilities like balconies, sit outs, telephone, 24 hr running hot water, bathtubs, etc.
